Sept. 3, 2008 – Michael Spaulding of the Truman men’s golf team finished tied for first after 36-holes in the rain shortened Missouri Intercollegiate held at The Club of Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo. The Bulldogs finished fifth out of the 16-team field.
May 7, 2008 – Truman women’s golf finished six shots out of second place while men’s golfer Chris Kovach placed 13th overall at their respective NCAA Regionals this Monday through Wednesday. Freshman women’s golfer Kaytie Spangler qualified for NCAA Nationals after finishing in a tie for second at the women’s North Regional – finishing at +8 through the three rounds of competition.
Apr. 29, 2008 – Truman’s golf teams will be represented at next week’s NCAA Division II regional events. The women’s team will compete in the North Regional, while freshman Chris Kovach will be at the Central Regional. Both tournaments will take place on May 7-9.
Apr. 22, 2008 – Chris Kovach earned the MIAA Men’s Golf Freshman of the Year award after placing third at the conference championship tournament.
Apr. 9, 2008 – The Truman men’s golf teams’ final round at the Kansas City Intercollegiate tournament was washed out and ended their two-tournament trip early. The Bulldogs played in the Division I Beu/Mussato Western Illinois Invite on Friday and Saturday before taking part in the rain-shortened KC Intercollegiate on Monday.
Apr. 1, 2008 – The Truman men’s golf team struggled with the weather and course at the Missouri Western Invitational this past Monday & Tuesday. The Bulldogs placed ninth in the field and will next compete at the Western Illinois tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Mar. 25, 2008 – The Truman men’s golf team placed in a tie for eighth at the first MIAA scoring event of the spring season. The Bulldogs improved by five shots on the second day at the Heart of America Classic in Warrensburg, Mo.
Mar. 18, 2008 – The Bulldog men’s golf team opened up their spring season at the Newman (Kan.) Invitational. Truman placed fifth in the tournament with Chris Kovach leading the way with a six-over par 78.
Oct. 7, 2007 - The Truman men's golf team finished fourth out of 12 schools at the Fort Hays State Golf tournament on Tuesday. Freshman Chris Kovach finished in a tie for eighth after shooting a six-over 77 in round two.
Sept. 18, 2007 – Washburn University took top honors at the first MIAA men’s golf scoring event of the season. The Ichabods shot a team score of 565 in the two-day event to post a one-over par victory. Truman finished in eighth place in the 15 team field.
Sept. 5, 2007 – The Bulldog men’s golf team placed 12th at the Missouri Intercollegiate golf tournament played at the Club of Porto Cima at the Lake of the Ozarks. Scott Danielsen led the Bulldogs with three round total of 233.
May 9, 2007 – The Truman men’s golf team ended their 2006-07 season by placing eighth at the NCAA Central regional in Joplin, Mo. The Bulldogs finished just two shots behind Southwest Baptist. Scott Danielsen led the Bulldogs with a team-low of 74 in the final round to finish in a tie for 27th position.
April 27, 2007 – The Truman men’s golf team earned a bid to the NCAA Division II Regional tournament to be held in Joplin, Mo. on May 7-9. This is the sixth straight year the Bulldogs have made the regional tournament and will be looking to advance to the nationals later in May.
April 24, 2007 – The Truman men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the MIAA Championships held the past two days at Branson Creek Golf Club. The Bulldogs jumped Fort Hays State and Southwest Baptist in the overall conference standings to finish the regular season in fifth.
April 10, 2007 – The Truman men’s golf team placed 12th at the Kansas City Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon at historic Swope Memorial Golf Course. Michael Spaulding led the Bulldogs with a two-day total of 150 to finish in a tie for 26th.
April 3, 2007 – The Truman men’s golf team finished a strong sixth at the Missouri Southern Invitational in Joplin on Tuesday. The Bulldogs finished just one shot back of Winona State and Missouri Western, while Jesse Helms finished eighth and Tyler Phillips placed 13th.
March 27, 2007 – The Truman men’s golf team slipped to seventh position after the final round of the Washburn Invitational held at the Topeka Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. Jesse Helms finished in a tie for eighth place after shooting a five-over par 76 on the day.
Oct. 10, 2006 – The Truman men’s golf team finished up their fall season with an eighth place finish at the Pittsburg State Invitational, an MIAA scoring event. The Bulldogs did improve the most after the first round, shooting 13 shots better than the first round, but couldn’t move up the leaderboard.
Sept. 20, 2006 – The Truman men’s golf team had a tough second day at the Southwest Baptist Invitational and finished in eighth place in the first MIAA scoring event of the season. Tyler Phillips shot a 155 two-day total and finished in a tie for 24th to top the Bulldog roster.
Sept. 11, 2006 – The Truman men’s golf team fired a one-under par 283 in the final round of the Quincy University Invitational to capture the team title by 13 shots over Rockhurst Univ. Three Bulldogs finished in the top five, with senior Jesse Helms taking medalist honors with a three-under 139 for the two-day event.
