Feb. 10, 2010 – The Truman Wrestling team fell 37-6 in a dual meet with the defending NAIA National Champions, LindenwoodUniversity (Mo.).Ryan Banning (133) and Andy Bader (157) had the wins for the Bulldogs on the night.
Banning defeated Corey Duncan by a 10-3 score while Bader edged out a 7-4 decision over Brian Oechsner.
Loyde Braidlow had a great match with Lion’s heavyweight Tyler Porras.Braidlow fell behind 2-1 but got a last second takedown and near fall as the first period ended.The bell saved Porras from being pinned.
In the second period, Porras turned the tables on Braidlow and got a judgment call takedown as time expired to pull with two points.
After an escape by Porras made the score 6-5, Porras took down Truman’s top performer to take a lead but Braidlow got the escape to send the match into overtime.
In the sudden victory period with both competitors exhausted, Porras was able to get the upperhand and score the take down for the 9-7 victory.
The Bulldogs will next be in action at the MIAA Duals on Sunday in Hays, Kan.
