Dec. 10, 2009 – The Truman Wrestling team dominated in front of the home crowd on Thursday night as they defeated Hannibal-LaGrange in the team’s first dual match of the season.

 

Truman’s Rolland Wimberley got things started with a pinfall victory in the first bout of the evening and Ryan Banning followed with a technical fall win at 133.

 

Colton Schmitz received a forfeit win at 141 while Alex Maus scored a fall victory at the 4:33 mark to put Truman up 23-0.

 

Steve Kueny was awarded a forfeit win at 157 and Andy Bader scored a fall victory at 165 to preserve the shutout over the Trojans.

 

Hannibal-LaGrange got on the scoreboard with a late takedown by Nathan Downs in the 174-pound match and defeated Bryan Isbell of the Bulldogs.

 

Chad Kurvoski and Zach Hayes each scored decision wins for the Bulldogs and Loyde Braidlow won by forfeit to end the evening’s matches with the Bulldogs winning 47-3.

 

Schmitz faced Kueny in an exhibition match and won by fall as the first period expired..

 

The Bulldogs will be in action at the Nebraska-Kearny tournament this weekend.  The tournament is the final action for the team prior to the holiday break.
