Oct. 24, 2009 – Behind a third place finish by Dani Dell’Orco and three other all-conference performances, the Truman women’s cross country finished second at the MIAA Championships in
The Bulldogs had six runners in the top 28 and finished with 57 points to trail only
Dell’Orco finished the six kilometer race in 21:34.91 and was followed by Anne Ratermann in 8th (22:25.68), Karen Grauel in 10th (22:33.96), Cindy Grauel in 11th (22:34.62), Michelle Gronemeyer in 25th (23:30.73) and Kylie Raithel (23:35.93) in 28th.
Dell’Orco, Ratermann and Karen Grauel each earn all-conference honors while Cindy Grauel was finished with honorable mention all-league accolades.
The men’s team struggled as Mike Dial and Bob Gorman were the top placers for the Bulldogs coming in 39th and 40th place respectively. Dial crossed in 26:39.86 while Gorman was three seconds behind him. The team did not have Adam Kell because of illness and lost Joey Walls due to an injury halfway through the race.

October 24, 2009-Kimi Shank won her second straight individual championship to lead
Southern outscored runner-up Truman by 39 points on the way to
their fourth straight conference title.
MSSU had six of the top seven runners with Truman’s Dani Dell’Ocro
finishing third to break up the Lion sweep. Shank’s time of 21:01.07
is the fastest time in an MIAA Championship meet over 6K and is a
MSSU’s Marlee Tegenkamp placed sixth overall to earn MIAA Freshman of the Year honors.
