Week At-a-Glance:
The MIAA-leading Truman women’s soccer team looks for its 10th straight win on Friday afternoon when it travels to Missouri Southern for a 4:00 pm match against Missouri Southern before returning home for the final time in the 2009 regular season on Sunday for a noon contest with Missouri Western.
Truman’s match at MSSU was originally scheduled for a 7:00 pm start but was moved up due to the possibility of inclement weather in the Joplin area.
The Bulldogs (11-2-2, 10-1 MIAA) have a two point lead on Nebraska-Omaha through 11 conference matches in the race for the MIAA conference title. Both teams are scheduled to end the regular season with four road matches in the last five. The Bulldogs and Mavericks split the regular season series, with each defending home turf.
Truman will look to complete season sweeps of Missouri Southern (4-10, 2-8 MIAA) and Missouri Western (5-9-1, 3-7-1) after picking up a 4-0 victory at home against the Lions and a 1-0 double overtime win at MWSU earlier this season.

Quick Kicks:
- The 2-1 win last Monday marked the 15th straight season of 10+ wins for the Bulldog soccer team. It was also the 17th season in program history with double-digit wins. The Bulldogs are the winningest MIAA women’s soccer program.
- With ten shutout through 15 games, the ‘Dogs are on pace for 13 this season in the regular season, which would be the third-most in school history.
- The Bulldogs will not play at a neutral field until potentially the NCAA tournament, as all four non-conference matches in 2009 were either true home or road contests.
Up Next:
Barring any re-scheduled matches this week, the Bulldogs will have just three regular season matches remaining in the 2009 season. Two of those will be handled next week, as the Bulldogs will travel to Washburn on Thurs., Oct. 29 before a Halloween night showdown at Central Missouri on Sat., Oct. 31.
