Oct. 17, 2009 – The Truman women’s golf team wrapped up the 2009 fall season with a first-place team finish at the Avila (Kan.) University Invitational, guided by junior Jennifer Lawson’s first career individual title. The Bulldogs were 11 shots better than second-place Missouri Western in picking up its third team title of the fall campaign.

Lawson shot an overall 155 (79-76) to beat Plern Promboobpa (Park Univ.) by one stroke. It marked the fifth top-five finish of the fall for Lawson, who had finished second three times before picking up her first collegiate win. Senior Krystal Limsiaco shot a 159 to finish in third place, while sophomore Liz Lestmann picked up a fifth-place finish by posting a 166.

Senior Erin Semple (178; 13th place) and freshman Jessica Tomash (180; 15th place) rounded out the Bulldog teams scores, while sophomore Jessica Kraus finished in 11th place by firing a two-day total of 174 playing as an individual.

The Bulldogs finished the fall season with three first-place finishes, coming in the season’s first, third and final events.
