Sept. 27, 2009 – The Truman women’s golf team placed sixth at the Millikin University Fall Invite on Sunday.  Junior Jen Lawson tied for first overall but lost in a three-way playoff.

Lawson was the clubhouse leader following her opening round 76 but was caught by Angela Gauck (Marian) and Hannah Buck (Washington U.) in the final round.  Lawson finished tied for second after Gauck won the playoff.

Liz Lestmann tied for 15th with rounds of 78-83, while Erin Semple tied for 21st with scores of 85-79.

The Bulldogs shot 329 on Saturday and 326 on Sunday to finish two shots out of fifth and five out of fourth.  Truman was within nine shots of second place Washington University.  Rend Lake CC ran away with the tournament with scores of 312 and 315.

Truman will next be in action at the Mavericks Fall Invite in Omaha, Neb. on Oct. 4-5.
