Sept. 21, 2009 – Kyle Schlotz, Colin Boswell and Ben Rusk all placed for the Bulldogs at the Truman Men’s Tennis Singles Tournament over the weekend. Rusk finished second in Flight 7/8 while Schlotz and Boswell took home third place finishes.
Schlotz has a busy weekend tournament as four of his six matches needed extra games to be completed. He won the first three matches 9-7, 9-8 and 8-2 before falling 9-7 to Nelson Ginape (Johnson County CC) in the first match on Saturday. Schotz rebounded with an 8-6 win in his second match of the day but fell 9-8 to Daniel Quesada (Northwest Missouri) in the finale.
Rusk went 4-1 in the tournament to claim second in Flight 7/8. He lost a 8-3 decision to Rafael Ferririra (Northwest Missouri) for the flight championship.
Boswell finished the tournament with a 3-3 record in Flight 5/6. Boswell lost his first two matches of the tournament but won three of his last four to take third in the flight.
The Bulldogs will face Quincy University on Tuesday in Kirksville.
