Sept. 20, 2009 – The Truman men’s soccer team completed a successful weekend in Texas on Sunday, as Dan Meagher’s penalty shot in the 23rd minute, combined with a shutout by Tyler Knierim, helped the Bulldogs pick up a 1-0 win at St. Edward’s University.

Truman won its sixth straight match with Sunday’s win, marking the longest winning streak for the program since a seven-match streak in 2007. Meagher’s goal was his 4th of the season, tying him for the team-high with Bobby Larkin.

A physical contest which featured each team getting 17 foul calls, both squads applied pressure throughout with SEU taking 12 shots and Truman firing ten. The Bulldogs were recipients of six corner kicks, while Knierim was solid in net again – picking up his third shutout of the season by stopping five Hilltopper shots on target.

The Bulldogs (6-1) return from their Texas trip and will travel to Wichita, Kan., for a match against Newman (Kan.) University next Sunday, Sept. 27.
