Sept. 16, 2009 – The Truman women’s tennis team won five of six singles matches to defeat Central College 6-3 in their first dual match of the season.
The Bulldogs fell behind 2-1 after doubles with only Dagmar Velez and Anna Greenwald picking up an 8-3 victory at number three. Amy Ochs and Ellen Russell lost a 9-7 affair at number one to Faith Bliss and Kayla Donner of the Dutch.
However it was all Bulldogs in the singles play with two through six picking up straight set victories.
Maggie Schutte, the only Bulldog to drop their singles match, won her first set before falling 11-9 in a third set tie-break.
Truman will host Quincy next Tuesday at the Truman Tennis Courts.
