Sept. 15, 2009 – The University of Central Missouri stormed back in the final round of the Truman Bulldog Classic to over take Washburn University and win the first MIAA scoring event of the season.  Dustin Yaeger of Washburn won the individual title in a sudden death playoff.

Dustin Yaeger beat out teammate Riley Piles in a sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole for medalist honors.  Yaeger finished with rounds of 68-73 for a 141.

Ryan Kloeppel of Central Missouri finished third with an even-par 142 after a scorecard playoff gave him the trophy over teammate Matt Miller and Bulldog Nik Bentzinger.

This was the first of four conference scoring events of the 2009-10 season.  The conference champion is determined by a team’s finish in the three regular season tournaments and double points in the final conference meet in Kansas City next April.

The next conference scoring event will be Oct. 5-6 at Fort Hays State.
