June 26, 2009 – Truman junior men’s golfer Chris Kovach lost 5-and-4 to Scott Glenn in the first round of match-play competition at the 2009 Missouri Amateur Championship on Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Kovach fell behind after bogeying the par-4 second hole and never recovered, eventually dropping to 3-down by the turn. He won the 10th hole to close to just two back, but couldn’t make up any additional ground in dropping his opening round match.
The Missouri Amateur Championship continues through Sunday for the remainder of the field.
