Game 1 Box Score (MW 16, TSU 5)
Game 2 Box Score (MW 9, TSU 5 – 10 innings)
May 3, 2009
The Bulldogs (11-45) fell behind 8-1 in game one before climbing back to within three in the bottom half of the fourth inning. But the offense stalled from there, as Myers was the only Truman player with multiple hits and his four RBIs marked the third time this year he hit that mark. Seth Huninghake picked up the loss for Truman, going 4.1 innings and giving up seven earned runs.
Truman picked up a solid starting effort from Ryan Trimble in game two, and held a 5-3 lead through four innings, but the Griffons (34-22) scored twice in their half of the sixth to knot the game at five apiece. Neither team scored until the 10th, when Brady Ellis took a Tyler Stefan offering over the left field fence for a grand slam, breaking the tie and propelling MWSU to the 9-5 win. Stefan pitched four innings of relief of Trimble, who went six, and picked up the loss.
With Truman having played a school-record 56 games this season, many team and individual program records were broken, including:
