Drake Results ~ Kip Janvrin Open Results
April 25, 2009 – Alex Van Delft recorded a provisional mark in the men’s shot put at the Simpson College/Kip Janvrin Open while Danna Kelly competed in the women’s steeplechase at the historic Drake Relays this weekend for the Bulldog Track & Field teams.
Van Delft edged out teammate Derek Atwood for top honors in the men’s shot put at Simpson. Van Delft had a NCAA provisional mark of 52-07.50 while Atwood’s mark came in at 51-05.75.
Matt Olson turned in the next highest finish for the men with a third place showing in the 400 meter hurdles (54.93).
Kelly and five other teammates competed along side some of the nation’s best at the 100th running of the Drake Relays in
Shaina Dochterman was the top non-Division I athlete in the 400 meter hurdles. Dochterman clocked in 61.47 to place 11th.
Dochterman also ran the anchor legs of both the 4x100 and 4x400 teams. Both relay teams came in sixth.
Back at Simpson, Anne Ratermann was second in the 800 meter run while Katrina Biermann and Stephanie Luebrecht took second in pole vault and triple jump respectively.
Kortney Holeman brought home the team’s only first place finish in Indianola. Holeman had a discus mark of 142-04 to take top honors in that event.
The Bulldogs will next compete at the MIAA Championships next weekend in
