The Bulldogs left 13 runners on base in the game and were 0-for-3 with the bases loaded before the Gorillas added a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
Melissa Slayden allowed just the one unearned run to pick up her 19th win of the season, while Richelle vanGennip went just five and a third innings allowing six runs, four earned for the loss.
The ‘Dogs got the first run in the second game when Shea singled to left field to score senior Dani Mayer however Kristen Siegler struck out with Shea at second base.
Tiffany Swanson, who was the starting pitcher for the Gorillas, got the run back with a solo home run to left to lead off the fifth inning. Lora Lockhart then doubled down the left field line to score Annie Thurber that proved to be the winning run.
Truman had a chance to tie in the sixth when Mary Manley doubled and the Bulldog pitcher Ashley Rotkvich singled up the middle. Manley came around but the tag at the plate just nipped the Bulldog freshman and she was called out by the home plate umpire.
The Bulldogs got the tying run to second in the seventh but Erica LaCombe and Shea were both retired by Swanson for the victory.
