April 14, 2009 – The Bulldog men’s golf team missed an opportunity to move up the conference standings with a 12th place finish at the Ichabod Invitational hosted by Washburn University on Tuesday. The event was shortened to 18-holes because of weather on Monday.
Truman shot a 317 and dropped to fifth in the latest conference standings prior to the championship tournament at Shoal Creek Country Club next week. The Bulldogs have 11 points, three behind Southwest Baptist, with the next tournament counting double in the standings.
Michael Spaulding finished in a tie for 14th after posting the low score for Truman with a three-over par 74. Scott Danielsen was the only other Truman competitor to break 80 on the day with an eight-over 79 to place in a tie for 46th.
Central Oklahoma won the team title with a score of 292 while Central Missouri was the top MIAA school with a 294.
