April 7, 2009 – Krystal Limsiaco has the distinction of being the first Truman women’s golfer to earn conference player of the week honors. Limsiaco dominated the Bulldog Classic last weekend to earn the league honor.
This is the first year women’s golf has been recognized by the MIAA as a conference sport and they will have a championship event later in April in Liberty, Mo.
Limsiaco (pronounced lim-SHOCK-oh), a junior from Houston, Texas., placed first in the Truman Bulldog Classic, which concluded Saturday (April 4).
She topped those on the course shooting a 36-hole score of 166 (84-82) during the two-day tournament. Limsiaco fought through the windy conditions to shoot eight shots better than teammate Jen Lawson for the win.
She and Lawson helped the Bulldogs cruise to the win on their home course.
Earlier in the week, Limsiaco placed 16th at the NSIC Spring Fling played at Lincoln, Neb., that wrapped up March 30. Her 36-hole score of 175 helped the Bulldogs place fourth as a team.
Limsiaco is a graduate from The Woodlands (Texas) High School.
