April 7, 2009 – Danna Kelly was named the MIAA women’s field athlete of the week for the second straight week after breaking her own school record.

Kelly, a senior from Boone, Iowa, broke her own school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase event for the second time in as many weeks during the Northwest Missouri State Invitational Saturday (April 4).

She placed first with a time of 10 minutes, 58.78 seconds, shaving .49 seconds off her time last week (10:59.27). She currently has the fourth-fastest time in Division II and improved her provisional qualification for nationals.

Kelly is a graduate of Boone High School.
