March 24, 2009 – Wind, rain and a tough course led to a disappointing start of the spring for the Truman men’s golf team.  The Bulldogs finished 10th at the Drury University Pasta House Invitational that was shortened to 36 holes when round three was cancelled.

With the wind blowing between 25-35 mph and gusting higher, Truman struggled to a first round 340 team score.  The second round, contested on the same day, was not much better as the Bulldogs carded a 342 to finish five shots back of Rockhurst and ten ahead of Pittsburg State.

Vincent Kurth had rounds of 86-82 to finish in a tie for 31st while Scott Danielson shot 84-86 to tie for 35th.

In the first round, only six of the 66 competitors broke 80.

The third round was suspended when weather moved into the Springfield area after the team had completed about 13 holes.  The heavy rain washed out many bunkers and the course was deemed unplayable and the tournament scores were reverted back to round two.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play at the Moila College Invite on Sunday and Monday in St. Joseph, Mo.
