Mar. 3, 2009 – Eleven swimmers, four relay squads were named all-conference and Head Coach Mark Gole was named the women’s swim coach of the year by the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference.
Eight women, Kate Aherne, Jessie Lemaster, Emily Buss, Amanda Carnes, Anna Grinter, Julia Jones, Claire Myers and Stephanie Myers earned the all-conference honors following the NSISC championships on Feb. 11-14th.
On the men’s side, Andrew Berdine, Eric Kaestner and Brian Tillis were named to the all-NSISC team.
The following women’s relay teams were named all-conference: Krista Tippin, Jessica Jenkot, Tanya Sylvester and Aherne (200 Medley Relay), Tippin, Buss, Sylvester and Carina Pautz (400 Medley Relay), Erika Anderson, Jacqui Dempsy, Kendra Brunkow, Aherne (800 Free Relay) and Aherne, Pautz, Sylvester and Brunkow (400 Free Relay).
The Bulldogs will have 16 women and seven men compete at the NCAA Division II National Championship meet next Wed.-Sat. (Mar. 11-14) in Houston, Texas as part of the Division II Winter Sports Festival.
