The Mavericks won five individual regional championship with Cody Garcia (133), Mario Morgan (141), Todd Meneely (157), Ross Taplin (174) and Brent Pankoke (184) all taking top honors. UNO finished with 162.5 points.
Esai Dominguez of the Mavericks was named the freshman of the year and Meneely earned co-outstanding wrestler with Craig Becker of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Truman’s national hopes were dashed as heavyweight Loyde Braidlow lost his opening round match in extra time to Cody Beck (UCM). Braidlow came back to win in his first wrestleback to win 3-1 in sudden victory fashion but was defeated 6-5 in a tie break to Travis Clark (
