Mar. 1, 2009 – The Truman women’s indoor Track & Field team finished fourth and Shaina Dochtermann picked up three all-conference honors at the MIAA championships in Warrensburg this weekend. The men’s team placed eighth in the meet.
Dochtermann earned a provisional time in the 60 hurdles while coming in fourth and won the 200 meter dash in a provisional time of 25:18. She was also second in the 400 with a provisional mark of 56.79 and a member of the third place 4x440 relay team.
The other members of the 4x440 squad to earn all conference honors were Kristen Lowry, Stephanie Grauel and Amber Clayton.
Senior Danna Kelly also had a big meet as she won both the 3000 and 5000 meter races. Kelly became the first Bulldog to accomplish this feat since Beth Luebbering did it back in 2000. Kelly won the 3000 in a time of 10:10.92 which was nine seconds faster than second and won the 5000 by nearly 10 seconds faster than second with a time of 18:01.88.
Ashley Bernard had a provisional mark in the shot put while earning all-conference accolades. Bernard placed second with a mark of 45-06.25.
On the men’s side, Derek Atwood had a provisional in the shot with a mark of 52-02.75 and a fourth place finish.
