Feb. 20, 2009 – Five Bulldogs won events in their final tune-up prior to the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday in Warrensburg at the Central Missouri Classic.  Four were won on the women’s side while Joey Walls picked up an event win on the men’s side.

 

Walls won the 3000 meter run in a time of 8:51.47 with teammate Adam Kell coming in fourth place just behind at 8:59.65.

 

Coedy Walker placed third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.  Damon Morris was in a tight race in the 600 finishing third in 1:14.87.  The two runners ahead of him finished less than five-tenths of a second ahead.

 

On the women’s side, Katrina Bierman continued her dominance in the pole vault taking the event with a mark of 11-09.00.  Bierman was also fifth in the long jump.

 

Ashley Bernard won the weight throw with a mark of 52-08.0, Lexi Meinke finished a season-best third with a toss of 48-11.50.

 

Shaina Dochterman took first in the 400 with a time of 57.94, just missing a provisional time (57.80) and also was third in the 60 meter hurdles.

 

Danna Kelly rounded out the Truman winners on Friday with a time of 10:13.99 in the 3000 meter run.

 

Truman will return to Warrensburg next weekend for the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.  The meet has been expanded to three days.
