Feb. 17, 2009 – Caitlin Combs has signed to play golf at Truman State University beginning in the fall of 2009. Combs was Belleville East (Ill.) High School most valuable player for two straight seasons.
“We are excited to have Caitlin join our program,” said Head Coach Sam Lesseig. “She will bring a lot of tournament experience and has finished highly among the many tournaments she has played in.”
Combs is a four-year letterwinner and has twice been named all-Southwestern Conference and first team all-Area by the Metro East Golf Coaches Association and the Belleville News Democrat.
She finished first this past year at the Yorktown Invitational Tournament and was third at the IHSA Girls Regional tournament. Combs averaged 83.4 as a senior and had two holes-in-one.
In 2007, Combs tied the school’s nine-hole record with a three-under par 33 at her home course, Clinton Hill.
Combs is the daughter of Richard and Cathryn Combs.
