Feb. 15, 2009 – The Truman wrestling team ran up against four nationally-ranked teams over the weekend in road dual matches and came up on the short end in each. The Bulldogs return to Pershing Arena on Saturday to face Minnesota State-Mankato in a tune-up before the NCAA Super Regional in Kirksville on March 1st.
On Saturday Truman dropped a 55-0 decision to Central Oklahoma while on Sunday, the Bulldogs faced the other three MIAA schools that sponsor wrestling in Warrensburg.
Truman lost to the host Mules 48-0, lost to the top team in Division II, Nebraska-Omaha, 48-6 and Fort Hays State 37-9.
Thomas Redmon was a forfeit winner at 197 pounds against the Mavericks, while Chad Kurvoski won by fall at 184 and Loyde Braidlow won 3-1 at heavyweight against the Tigers.
Truman’s match on Saturday against Minnesota State will get underway at 3:00 p.m.
