Feb. 14, 2009 – The Bulldogs once again nearly erased a 13-point first half deficit as they cut the Nebraska-Omaha lead to just two points but the Mavericks turned up the pressure and pulled away for an 83-72 victory in Pershing Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Alex Henderson, who started the second half, got the Bulldogs (6-18/1-16 MIAA) going in the right direction with a three-pointer on the first possession of the period. Later
The Bulldogs had a chance to tie but Brian Nwelue’s shot fell off and Nate Owen connected for a basket on the next Mavericks possession.

However, Mitch Albers scored seven of the next 11 points for the Mavericks and they extended their lead back to 10 with just under six minutes to play.
The Mavericks would not let the Bulldogs get any momentum in the final minutes for their ninth conference win of the season.
Truman shot 63% in the second half with Ethan Freeman leading the way with 19 points.
Albers paced the Mavericks with 24 points while Andrew Bridger added 19. UNO shot 55% from the field and made 10 three-pointers.
