The Bulldogs (6-18, 3-14 MIAA) jumped out to a quick 4-2 edge, but UNO rattled off an 18-4 run to pull ahead 20-8 just before the ten minute mark of the first half. Truman pulled to within ten just four more times in the first half, but UNO turned 22 turnovers into 27 points, while the Bulldogs could just convert the Mavericks’ (12-10, 8-8 MIAA) 22 giveaways into ten points.
Mueller (16) and Daniels (13) paced a Bulldog offense that mustered just a 31% shooting percentage and hit just two-of-10 three-pointers. With eight rebounds, Mueller moved into third all-time on Truman’s rebound chart with 853 career boards and passed Barb Sorenson (UCM, 1986-1990) to move into ninth on the MIAA’s all-time list.
Cayla Hargrove scored 17 points off the bench for UNO in just 16 minutes of action, while Amanda Broadsack added 14 and LaToya Wright chipped in 13 points of her own.
