Feb. 5, 2009 – Women’s basketball forward Georgia Mueller was named to the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District second-team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and released Thursday.

 

Mueller, a native of Springfield, Ill., picks up her second career second-team all-district selection after receiving the same honor last season. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her institution and be nominated by her sports information office. Truman is a member of the District Seven College division, which is comprised of Division II, III and NAIA programs located in the Midwest region.

 

The 5-foot-10 senior ranks second on Truman’s career scoring list (1,779 points), fourth in rebounds (827), first in blocks (191) and ninth in assists (226) through 21 games this season. For her career, Mueller has played in 104 games and moved into the MIAA’s top-ten in rebounding on Wednesday (Feb. 4) night at Washburn University.

 

Mueller is majoring in Mathematics with minors in Biology and Statistical Methods. She currently holds a 3.51 GPA and was just one of four MIAA players to make one of three all-district teams.
