Jan. 24, 2009 – The women’s swimming team fell 110.5-92.5 to archrival Drury on Saturday afternoon while the men were defeated 150-55 by Missouri S&T on Friday and 137-67 by Drury on Saturday.
In the meet between the top two finishers at the Division II championships over the past decade, the Drury women used their two wins in the relay events to pull out the victory.
The Panthers took the first two places in the 400 medley relay and the top spot in the 400 free.
The Bulldogs got three individual event wins by Kate Aherne in the 50, 100 and 200 free events. Truman took the top three places in the 200 free with Kendra Brunkow and Jacqui Dempsy touching the wall in order behind Aherne.
Anna Grinter captured the 200 fly in an A-cut time of 2:05.73 to pick up the win in that event.
The Bulldog men nearly captured the 200 free relay as they were beat out by just three-tenths of a second.
Eric Kaestner followed up his 50 free win the night before against Missouri S&T with the win in the 100 fly. Kaestner was the only Bulldog to pick up a victory in both dual meets.
Jason Stokes finished second in the 50 free on Saturday with a B-cut time of 21.26. Stokes had already turned in an A-cut time in the same event earlier this season.
The Bulldogs will be off until their conference meet begins on Feb. 11th. The New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference championships will be held at
