Dec. 6, 2008 – Loyde Braidlow, Chad Kurvoski and Warron Galloway placed for the Bulldog wrestling team at the Simpson Invitational on Saturday. Braidlow took third in the 285-pound bracket. The team will be off until Dec. 19 when they host Upper Iowa in a dual meet in Pershing Arena.
Braidlow took third after loosing his first match of the day 10-6. He won five straight matches in the consolation bracket for the third place finish.
Kurvoski pinned his opponent in the fifth place match in the 184-pound weight class. Kurvoski was the top seeded wrestler in the bracket but lost 8-2 in the semis and 8-3 in the consolation semis before picking up the fifth place win.
Galloway lost in the quarters to top-ranked Rob Kramer (Coe College) before reeling off a pair of wins to reach the fifth place match. Galloway lost by fall in the match to take home sixth.
The Bulldogs finished ninth out of 15 teams at the tournament with 49 points.
