Truman Results ~ Open Brackets ~ Freshman/Sophomore Brackets
Nov. 23, 2008 – Alex Maus and Chad Kurvoski placed in the Freshman/Sophomore division of the Missouri Open for the Truman Wrestling team. Maus was fourth in the 141-weight class while Kurvoski took fifth at 184.
Maus won his first match of the day 5-1 before drumming a 7-5 decision to the top seeded Cody Gillenwater of Central Missouri. Maus picked up three straight wins in the wrestlebacks before falling to Mizzou’s Cody Farinella in the third-place match 9-3.
Kurvoski picked up his first two victories by major decision before being sent to the wrestlebacks by Brent Haynes of Missouri. Kurvoski lost his next match to Kyle Reed of McKendree before defeating Matt McCarter of Illinois by a major decision for fifth place.
The majority of Bulldog wrestlers were in the freshman/sophomore division with only 174-pounder Dean Schultz and heavyweight Loyde Bradiow competing in the open division. Both went 1-2 on the day
Truman will compete in their first dual match of the season against Hannibal-LaGrange on Thursday Dec. 4th in Hannibal.
