Nov. 8, 2008 – Jason Stokes, Kate Aherne and Anna Grinter all achieved “A” cuts as the Bulldog swimming teams hosted Missouri State and Nebraska-Omaha in the Pershing Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.  Stokes set a new pool record in the 50 free with his “A” cut.

Stokes was the first leg of the 200 free relay and finished his swim in 20.77.  His teammates, Andrew and Peter McCall along with Eric Kaestner took first in the relay event in a time of 1:24.25. 

The Bulldogs lost the dual with Missouri State 77-45.

Aherne swam 1:52.75 in the 200 free to go along with “B” cut times in the 50 Free (24.20) and 200 Back (2:06.85).  While Grinter achieved her national automatic mark in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:06.84.

Four other women’s swimmers made the “B” cut lists as Jessica Lemaster (10:40.42) and Claire Myers (10:43.73) did it in the 1000 Free, Emily Buss (2:26.40) in the 200 Breast and Erika Anderson (4:40.44) in the 400 IM event.

The women defeated Missouri State 82-40 and Nebraska-Omaha 90-32.

The swim teams will next compete at the Hooiserland Open Invite on Nov. 21-23 at Indiana University in Bloomington.
