Oct. 25, 2008 – Danna Kelly, Michelle Gronemeyer and Joey Walls earned all-conference honors as the Truman cross country teams competed at the MIAA Championships in Warrensburg on Saturday.

 

Kelly finished second in the women’s race and led the Bulldogs to a fourth place team finish.  Kelly’s time of 22:38.23 was 19 seconds ahead of third place Courtney Ayers (Southwest Baptist) and trailed individual champion Kimi Shank (Missouri Southern).  Shank finished the 6K course in 21:54.14.

 

Gronemeyer earned honorable mention all-MIAA with a 13th place finish.  Gronemeyer crossed in 23:35.66 and she was the second freshman in the top 16. 

 

Walls also earned honorable mention league accolades with a 15th place finish.  The freshman finished the 8K course in 26:20.72.

 

Three other Bulldogs placed 21st, 23rd and 24th respectively to help the team to a fifth place showing.  Zach Chapman crossed at 26:39.42, Bob Gorman in 26:43.02 and Josh Mantooth in 26:45.17.

 

Both teams will compete at the NCAA South Central Regional on Nov. 8th in San Antonio, Texas.
