July 11, 2008 – Junior Julie Williams and freshman Kaytie Spangler were named to the 2007-08 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar team.
The NGCA named 402 student-athletes from across all three divisions. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 grade-point average and competed in 66% of team’s tournaments.
Williams (Brookfield, Mo./Brookfield) competed in all 11 tournaments for the Bulldogs and matched her season best round of 76 on two occasions. She averaged 85.3 but finished the season with three consecutive rounds in the 70s at the NCAA North Regional in May.
Spangler (Ely, Minn./Ely Memorial) qualified for the NCAA Division II national championship meet after finished second in medalists honors at the regional. She averaged 83.2 for the season and had a season-low round of 73 at the regional. This past summer, Spangler qualified for the finals of the USGA Amateur Public Links tournament.
